Abstract

The quality of the processes defined based on the functional relationship between the response variable and one or more independent variables is called profile. If this relationship is a linear function of an independent variable, it is called a simple linear profile. In this paper, using fuzzy logic, two functional efficiency indices are proposed for simple linear profiles, and by using simulation studies, their performance is evaluated in comparison with the existing functional indices. The results show that the new indicators perform better than the existing indicators in expressing the efficiency of the process. A real example is provided to demonstrate how to use the new indicators.
