Abstract
Factors such as age play a significant role in identifying individuals in criminal cases. The frontal sinus and maxilla are resistant to impact. The present study aims to investigate the capability of the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) in age determination using cone beam CT scan images. In this method, 240 cone beam CT scan images were collected, and the height, length, width, and volume of the frontal sinus and maxilla were extracted. Subsequently, an ANFIS based on PSO model was proposed for age determination. The research results indicate that this system has good accuracy compared to other machine learning methods in age determination.
